Album and Stuff
(20-Aug-07) Well, our new CD is back and ready for sale. You can buy it here, by clicking on the Store link on the left. You get an immediate MP3 download and the CD will be sent via mail. We're also getting some new great looking T-Shirts with a cool logo that was done by a bonafide graphics artist. Other news: Since our drummer Marilyn has been busy working a real job, we've been joined recently by Keith Anderson on drums and (as always) our friend Milo helps out when we're in a pinch.

This is Not a Drill ...
(02-Apr-07) Yeah, so maybe we did a little time warp. But we're not kidding, the new album is almost done. We are done recording, and we are next going to enlist the talented ears/fingers of Dennis Lind to mix it for us. After that, on to 'mastering' and then on to duplication. We're thinking we'll have disks on hand in June.

New Album is Brewing ...
(07-Jul-06) We're tentatively calling our new album "Change" since it's one of the songs on the album, and Change is something that we're all experiencing as individuals and as a group.

There are 14 songs being brewed up, and we have drums, bass and acoustic guitar done - starting work on the vocals tomorrow, then (icing on the cake) lead guitar. We love the way it sounds so far - guided by our 12 Records friend, musical mentor, and audio-techno-weenie Sean.

We're having a blast so far, and we'll probably have it ready for release in around the September timeframe.

Recording on Album #2
(25-May-06) Tomorrow, Stray Dogma starts recording album #2. We don't have a title yet, and ideas are welcome. We've got 17 songs in the hopper, which we'll probably weed down to around 14 songs for the final disc. We're all very excited, we'll be playing as a group in the studio - hoping to capture that "live" energy. More as it develops.

Radio Spot
(10-Feb-06) Stray Dogma was a featured artist on the state-wide show called 'AK' which aired on APRN, Saturday 2/11. In Anchorage it was on KSKA 91.1. In case you missed it, Click Here for an MP3 of the piece.

Dang, It's Cold
(30-Jan-06) Whaaahhh! It's cold. It's dark. We're actively seeking a sponsor to fly us all to Hawaii for the next 3 months. We'll play music for you every day and even write a song or two about you or that someone special. That would be a great Valentines Day gift for your honey, eh? No, really, we're enjoying winter because Susan's wrists are on the mend and we're playing again. Hope to see you soon at a gig or around town.

Taking a Little Break ...
(23-Sep-05) Stray Dogma been taking a little break from playing in order to give Susan's tendonitis of the wrists a chance to heal up. Thus we cancelled our recent Organic Oasis gig (9/24) ... but, we'll be on the radio 9/26, so listen in if you can.

Bounding through the Summer
(15-Aug-05) All kinds of good things have been happening. We had a blast playing at the Girdwood Forest Fair. Jay Bell did a great job of recording that performance, and we've put some songs on the web site. We also had fun playing at the Ride for Life fundraiser for the Lance Armstrong Foundation at Summit Lodge. Most beautiful place we've ever played. The video for that event (by George Stransky) uses 5 songs by Stray Dogma (Stray Dogma's first soundtrack!) A week or so later George and crew came and videoed a gig at Organic Oasis - we'll try to put a couple pieces of that video on the web site, too, it's really nice.

Traveling Dogmas
(12-May-05) We've had a great couple of weeks - got to play in Fairbanks as an opener for Patty Larkin, then last weekend we ventured to Kodiak for 3 different gigs. Had a great time there also and we hope to go back soon.

iTunes: Latest Distribution Point
(06-Apr-05) Stray Dogma has entered into the mainstream digital distribution world. Scratch Recording is now in Apple's iTunes store. Check it out. Good old-fashioned "hardcopy" CDs are available thru our store (link is on the left), www.cdbaby.com, and at book and music stores in Anchorage (Metro, Borders, Barnes & Noble, Mammoth).

Wow, That Was FUN!!
(04-Apr-05) A big thank you to our old (and new) friends who were at the 12 Records party on Saturday. Dang, we had a good time. For us to be able to play on the same stage as Colleen Coadic and her all-star band, Jared Woods, and JJ Tranquilla was a thrill. We also really liked the Snow Goose theatre setting - it was cozy, had beer, wine, drinks, etc. but didn't have the "smokey bar" vibe. Perfect setting and a fun time was had by all. Camille 'CC' Conte did a great job of being MC, filling the empty spaces between groups so that things flowed nicely. Thanks CC.

Announcing the BIG Album Release Party!
(28-Feb-05) We're excited to be a part of this show: April 2 (Saturday), 8pm at the Snow Goose Theatre. It'll be Stray Dogma, Colleen Coadic, JJ Tranquilla, and Jared Woods - our favorite musicians/songwriters around town. We all have at least one thing in common: our new albums were produced by the most excellent 12 Records. Thus, this will be a '12 Records Multi-Artist Album Release Party Extravaganza'. Come Check it Out! Mark your calendars!

Stray Dogma in Broadjam Top 10
(06-Dec-04) Broadjam.com is a site that reviews independent music from throughout the world, and Stray Dogma's song Circumstance has made the Top 10 in the Folk Rock category! They are just below awesome Alaska songstress (and friend/mentor) Colleen Coadic on the list.

Album is Complete!
(19-Nov-04) We just finished the final step (mastering) on our new album, called 'Scratch Recordings'. It's available from our Store (link on left menu) as a digital download with bonus old fashioned CD sent to you via mail, and you can hear samples there as well. Whew! almost an 8 month gestation period, but we learned tons and it was an excellent experience, guided by the able hands of Sean Cobb at 12 Records. Please check it out and let us know what you think.

Studio, Ankles, Europe
(18-Sep-04) Lots going on - our friend and CD producer Sean is having ankle transplant surgery on both ankles (wow), so the studio work is on hold until he has enough mobility to roll around the studio (maybe a week or two). Bassist Scott Kiefer is heading on a Euro sabatical, and our friend and conga player, Elliott has moved to Cali to be near his family.

The studio tracks are sounding great, and we look forward to Sean's further magic in the mixing phase, which is next. Todd Anders Johnson just finished some bonus percussion tracks on some of the songs, and the most lovely fiddle player Shannon Saunders just did some killer fiddle tracks on 5 songs.

Susan and Mark are going to play more gigs in the next two months, so please come join us!

Recording in the Studio
(29-Jul-04) We are working in the studio of Sean Cobb (12 Records Studio) on our new CD, which is tentatively named "Scratch Recordings". Drums, Bass, Guitar, and Piano are done, and we're now working on vocals. We posted some pictures in the photos section (link is on left). What a great experience. Sean is a very good at his craft, and is a top-notch musician as well, so we are all learning a lot and having a blast. Dang, it's sounding pretty good, too. Shooting for this thing to be done some time in the fall.
